"Cool" is major corporation speak for making money from peer group pressure.Cool is basically what we did as infants - it's a smile or an attitude that gets the reaction we want from those we want to impress.As an adolescent, those people are normally peers and friends.  As an adult, those people are more often the opposite sex (or any other gender of potential lover).
Naturally, whatever brand name you opt for, get the designer sunglasses that look best on you. The same style of sunglasses can look completely different on different face shapes.Buy sunglasses to suit your hair colour, skin tone and face shape. "Cool" also feeds into Self Esteem.We all need to gain respect and acceptance to feel good about ourselves. Even more important, and the one thing we have total control over, is what we actually do with our own abilities.  That is the secret of self-esteem.   And if thinking you look cool or good in a pair of designer sunglasses reinforces that perception and self esteem and encourages you to be confident and assertive, then where’s the harm in that?
